This gradually leads to changes in control vectors, ultimately enabling arbitrary code execution. --- Exploitation Challenges Data Encoding: The string data used in exploitation is written directly to memory without encoding, causing it to span across multiple potential locations. Buffer Properties: Insufficient default length checking allows overly long string inputs, resulting in overwriting of a 256-byte heap-allocated region. Function Calls: The program contains numerous Java/JVM function and DLL calls, which during debugging may cause invalid address reads or exceptions, increasing the difficulty of tracking and analyzing the exploit. --- Technical Details The overflow originates from the method call, where input validation is missing. When the allocated length is less than the length of the data being written, overwriting occurs. When crashes, invalid memory reads, or exceptions occur, attaching a debugger (e.g., OllyDbg) fails to accurately pinpoint the arbitrary code execution point.
